Sous Chef

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Ganbei Izakaya. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, including expertise in robata, tempura, and other izakaya-style cooked dishes. As a Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation, while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a Japanese restaurant or high-end dining establishment.

Deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

Expertise in robata grilling, tempura frying, and other izakaya-style cooked dishes.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

High level of creativity and passion for culinary arts.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Formal culinary training or equivalent experience preferred.
